Recreational Stream

PARENT & TOT  (Walking to 3 years of age)

Our Parent & Tot class is for walking babies and toddlers up to age 3. Children participate WITH their parent/guardian in this semi-structured class to share the love of movement. Parent & Tot will follow Gymnastics Canada’s Active Start curriculum, guiding your tot as they explore fundamental movements and develop gross motor skills and social behaviours through a variety of activities! 

 

Parents must remain with and actively assist their child for the length of the class.

MIGHTY TOTS  (2.5 to 4 years of age)

40m class
 

Mighty Tots is a transitional class primarily for 3 and 4 year old’s, or tots eager for a more challenging skill level. Children are encouraged to explore the class independently while parents and guardians stay close by for support, as needed. This semi-structured class follows Gymnastics Canada’s Active Start curriculum, developing fundamental movements, gross and fine motor skills, and class etiquette, through skill focused rotations and free play time! 

 

Parents are required to stay in the facility should your child need one-on-one assistance.

KINDERGYM (Ages 4 to 5)

Co-Ed class for Jr. and Sr. Kindergartners in Fall 2024.

This independent, hour long class is an introduction to the fundamentals of gymnastics, perfect for active 4 and 5 year olds who are eager to run, jump, hang, swing, and climb! Children will develop balance, strength, and confidence as they progress through Gymnastics Canada’s Active Start curriculum. 

 

Children must be able to separate from their parent and follow directions from a coach. For birth years 2019 and 2020.

Young Gymnast
BEGINNER ( Ages 6+)

This entry level Recreational Gymnastics class is open to all children aged 6-9, who have little or no gymnastics experience. Children will develop their strength, flexibility, and coordination, as they explore skills on vault, bars, beam, and floor. This structured program is guided by Levels 1-3 of Gymnastics Canada’s CanGym program, engaging in FUN, FITNESS, and FUNDAMENTALS!

 

Children who have completed Kindergym, but still need practice to achieve their Cartwheel should enter this group.

Backbend
INTERMEDIATE GIRLS (Ages 6+)

This class is open to girls 6 years of age or older (Grade 1+), who have some gymnastics experience. Skills will be developed to improve flexibility, balance, and strength to achieve a higher level of difficulty on vault, bars, beam, and floor. Intermediate athletes may perfect their cartwheels, while working on walkover progressions and round-offs. The Girls Intermediate class is guided by Levels 4-6 of Gymnastics Canada’s CanGym program.

 

Prerequisites: (1) year of Kindergym, Jr/Sr. Rec, or equivalent. Athletes should have their cartwheel to register in this group.

Boys During a Gymnastics Practice
BEGINNER TUMBLING (Ages 6+)

This entry level Tumbling Gymnastics class is open to all children aged 6-15, who have little or no gymnastics experience. Children will develop their strength and coordination, as they explore the fundamentals of tumbling skills on floor, working towards achieving their cartwheel. This program curriculum is guided by CanJump’s Tumbling Levels 1-4.

INTERMEDIATE TUMBLING (Ages 6+)

This co-ed Tumbling Gymnastics class is open to athletes aged 6-15, who have some gymnastics, cheer, or tumbling experience. Athletes will develop their strength and coordination on floor skills as they work on achieving their Round-offs, Back Handsprings, and basic Saltos. This program curriculum is guided by CanJump’s Tumbling Levels 5-8.

 

Prerequisites: minimum (1) year of gymnastics, cheer, or equivalent. Athletes must be confident in their handstand and have a straight cartwheel to join this group.

Headstand
Adult & Teen (Ages 16+)

This semi-structured class for ages 16+ who want to stay fit in the gym, and allows the opportunity for athletes to work on skills they choose!

Invitational Stream

XCEL BRONZE

Xcel Bronze is the first level in the Xcel program, which allows advanced recreational athletes to explore beginner competitive gymnastics. Athletes will work to incorporate their skills into custom routines, ultimately showcasing them at an invitational competition.

 

Xcel is a bridge program between recreational and competitive pathways, offering flexible and alternative programming to the Developmental program.

Developmental 1 focuses on acquiring core gymnastics skills with proper technique, increasing flexibility and building confidence to acquire the skills needed for competitive gymnastics.

The Developmental 2 group builds a solid gymnastics foundation, as athletes work on achieving the compulsory skills and routines of the Gymnastics Canada Developmental Program.

This advanced developmental group focuses on competition confidence, while striving to achieve quality compulsory Level 3-4 skills from the Canadian Competitive Program.

This class has both the Xcel and CCP pathways, and allows the gymnast to train and compete at their highest level, in a program that is suitable for the individual.
